All Wrapped Up: Groovy Gift Wrap Of The 1960's
I didn't think I'd like this book as much as I do. All Wrapped Up: Groovy Gift Wrap Of The 1960's has hundreds of whimsical gift wrap patterns featuring animals, holiday themes, kids, and abstract patterns. As an artist's reference, I have pored over this thing for hours, marveling at the skill of the un-named illustrators who created these gist wrap patterns.
By its very nature, giftwrap is meant to be torn to shreds and thrown away. Thank goodness some people had the sense to save these artistic treasures. Link

I must own this book. I'd have to say that 85% of my books are pop culture/kitsch-related and this one looks dynamite!
Which reminds me, in my hometown (a SMALL place) they still operate an ollllllld box factory and each Christmas they allow the public to come in and purchase assorted gift boxes, huge sheets of wrapping paper (10ยข each) and other assorted paper goodies.
Well, they have some GREAT birthday and all-occasion gift wrap that is so obviously left over from the 60's and 70's, yet they are still actively manufacturing it. And every year. I always buy some. I'll have to post it on my blog at some point. It's so great. It's got this groovy pattern of boys and girls all over it. It's just too great!
Thanks for the heads up about the book! I'm heading over to Half.com now!
